
How to access cPanel Disk Usage & Remote MySQL
Description :
- cPanel Disk usage tool scans the disk and facilitates the graphical overview on the usage of disk.
- It displays the amount of space used by directories.
- Space consumed by individual files is not shown with this feature.
- It also displays the amount of disk space used b MySQL, Databases and other hidden emails and directories.
Disk Usage Tool helps in appropriate management of disk quota, as the amount consumed by directory and the size of the largest file is known.
As desired, unnecessary files can be deleted using file manager.
Click Disk Usage in Files section to access Disk Usage Tool.
Different tables in cPanel Disk Usage Tool
There are two tables in cPanel Disk Usage Tool.
First table provides data on the amount of space consumed by the subdirectories and space used by MySQL, emails.
Second table portray the structure of a directory including hidden subdirectories.
Hidden subdirectories
cPanel Remote MySQL :
Remote MySQL feature of cPanel facilitates access of host account database to remote servers and web applications.
Unless server or database is not provided the facility to access, cPanel will not allow the users to access the database.
Through application the host names and IP address of the users can be added, to facilitate the desired user access to the database.
How to access cPanel Remote MySQL :
Select Remote MySQL link under cPanel Database section.
How to add Access host in cPanel Remote MySQL :
To facilitate access to the database whenever required, the desired user’s host name need to be entered in text input.
Click Add Host
Host names can be entered in three different types
Use Domain Name, Eg: www.domainname.com
Use IP address Eg: 182.65.51.182
Use wildcard % Eg: %.domainname.com or 182.65.51.182%
How to remove Access host from cPanel Remote MySQL
The host user or web application having access to the database can be denied the access by clicking Delete Link from the Access host list.
